Artist Bio
Welcome to Gigglepug.com
All of my dog art is carefully hand painted in acrylic on canvas. Each one is made with a little whimsy and a lot of love. My goal is to reflect the personality of each dog I paint, capturing those goofy and sweet expressions which warm our hearts.
I’ve earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School Of Visual Arts in NYC and work professionally as an Art Director. The arts and caring for animals are two of my deepest passions. I’ve been painting, drawing, sculpting and have loved pugs since I was a kid.
My husband and I have two pugs, Buster and Jingles, and often a third foster pug is in the mix. We’ve been a foster home for pugs in need for Adopt-A-Buddy Pug And Small Dog Rescue in Hohokus, NJ since 2007. We keep our house balanced and calm, making sure our fosters feel secure, loved, and find peace with us until they are placed in their forever homes.
When we took in our first rescued pug, Jingles, we fell in love and immediately adopted her. “Foster failures” we’re called, common among rescue group stories. We continue to fall for each one, finding it difficult to let go. But there is nothing more rewarding than providing a rescued animal with love and kindness for the rest of their lives.
A few of my other hobbies are “throwing” clay on the potter’s wheel (featured on Etsy), pluckin’ the banjo, acoustic guitar, and being in the company of kind people, and of course, their pets.
Thanks for looking! Enjoy! ~Angela
